When I arrived here in Sitio Joaninha, I looked at all the roads and never left the house, I didn’t even try. I was scared because I didn’t know where anything was. You know, there are all these roads and I was scared of getting lost.
Ai, eu fui morar na Joaninha. Ai, quando cheguei lá, olhei pra aquele monte de rua. Ai meu Deus do Céu, nem vou sair de casa nem tentei. Eu tinha porque eu nem sabia onde ficava nada. Sabe, tinha muita rua, tinha muito medo de me perder.
I moved to Sitio Joaninha but before I lived in Ivone. I left there because of the violence and went to live in Inamar. But in Inamar we couldn’t stay for long, just six months, because we were paying rent and we couldn’t manage to pay it. We managed to get this land and moved.
Mudei pra lá porque eu morava no Ivone, né. Ai, eu sai de lá por causa da violência, eu fui morar no Inamar. Só que lá no Inamar não deu pra morar por muito tempo, só seis meses, porque a gente estava pagando aluguel. Aí de aluguel não dá, né? Ai, a gente conseguiu esse terreno e trocamos.
